STEENHOEK, STREEK, HACKERT
Myron Steenhoek, son of Hugo and Johanna Vander Streek Steenhoek, was born on May 15, 1916, near Prairie City. He passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the Pella Comfort House.
On June 25, 1940, Myron was united in marriage with Ruth Hackert. To this union three children were born: Linda, Jaren, and Rodger.
Myron and Ruth spent many years of their married life farming, which became their life and hobby. After retiring they moved to Pella at 1303 Broadway Street. Shortly after Ruth's death October 24, 1994, Myron became a resident at Hilltop South and later moved to Hilltop North.
Myron was a member of the First Reformed Church and served as school board president of Battle Ridge School.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses: Linda and Ron Van Ekeren of Laramie, Wyoming, Jaren and Donna Steenhoek of Pella, Iowa, and Rodger and Laura Steenhoek of Beaverton, Oregon; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Alfred, Leroy, and Reuben Steenhoek all of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters: Viola Van Wyk and Helen Van Wyk; three brothers: Lester, Arthur, and Dale Steenhoek.
Myron will always be remembered by his family as being a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Burial took place at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella with the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Pella, First Reformed Church.
