WAUPUN - Jerome "Jerry" Vande Streek, 67, 401 Grace St., Waupun, died on Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, in Grayson County, Texas.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m., at St. Martins Catholic Church, Highway 67 east of Lomira, Ashford. The Rev. Wayne J. Barta will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Mr. Vande Streek was born on March 23, 1933, in Waupun, the son of William and Norma (Johnson) Vande Streek. He was married to Darlene Harrington, on Jan. 12, 1957, in Waupun.
Mr. Vande Streek was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and his family was most important to him. He was a Waupun resident all of his life. He soloed for his pilots license at the age of 16. He was an Air Force veteran serving from 1952 to 1956. He was the owner of the Vande Streek Oil Inc. of Waupun. He was employed with the Reabes Air Service of Waupun, where he continued to be an avid pilot. He loved sailing and riding his BMW motorcycle through the Kettle Moraine area. He was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church, Ashford. He was a former member of the Jaycees
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Darlene; four daughters, Susan (Paul) Yaskanich, Mt. Vernon, Wash., Sharon (Robert) Foley, Santa Rosa, Calif., Kathy (Mark) Popp, Richfield, and Karen Vande Streek, San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Christopher and Jonathan Suttles, Kimberly Foley, Amy and Paula Uker, and Ashley Popp; and one great-grandson, Braiden Uker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
