      John H. Schouten was born August 26, 1907 in Alto, Fond du Lac Co., Wisconsin. He was the son of Aaron Schouten and Hattie Redeker. John married Hattie van de Streek, Sept. 11, 1929 in Waupun, Wisconsin. John Schouten passed away Dec. 14, 1991 in Waupun, Fond du Lac Co., Wisconsin.

      John H. Schouten, 84, 550 E. Main St., Waupun, died Saturday, Dec 14, 1991, at his residence. Mr. Schouten was born Aug. 26, 1907, in Alto, the son of Aaron J. and Hattie (Redeker) Schouten. He married Hattie Vande Streek Sept. 11, 1930, in Waupun. He was a graduate of Waupun High School. He was a business partner in the S & S Motor Company in Waupun for 40 years. He was presented with several distinguished service awards from the Ford Motor Company. He was a charter member of the Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun, and was also a member of the Male Chorus and the choir. He was also an associate member of the Palm Grove Reformed Church in Holiday, Fla. He was a member of the Waupun Kiwanis Club. Survivors include his wife Hattie of Waupun: one daughter, Marilyn (John) Kolb, Plymouth, Wis.; two sons, Larry (Alyce) Schouten, Hartland, Wis., and Arvid (Cindy) Schouten, Waupun; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun, the Rev. Louis Buytendorp officiating. Interment was in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Visitation was held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun, and at the church on Tuesday from noon to the hour of service.
