      Payson Hamlin Harper was born Dec. 8 1908 in Dafter, Chippewa Co., Michigan. He is the son of James A. Harper and Martha Walsh. Payson Harper passed away Dec 28, 1955.

      Payson Harper, 48, Died Dec. 28; Funeral Was Held on Saturday

      Payson Harper, 48, 501 South Grove street, died suddenly Wednesday evening, Dec. 28, in his home of a heart ailment. Mr. Harper was born at Dafter, Mich., on Dec. 8, 1908, the son of James and Martha Welch Harper. He was married to Harriet Vande Streek of Waupun in August, 1931. The couple resided in Madison for several years before moving to Waupun in 1946. Mr. Harper was employed as a guidance officer at the Wisconsin State Prison. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Albertus Homan, Waupun, three sons, Donald and Robert, at home, and David, serving with the U.S. Air Force; two grandsons, four sisters, Mrs. Gay Radtke, Edgerton, Mrs. Kenneth Comb, alderwood, Wash., Mrs. DuWayne Barringer, Groetinger, Iowa, and Mrs. Herbert Cavanaugh, Seattle; and one brother, Glen of Evansville. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2p.m. at the Kohls and Giebink Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chester Postma officiating. Burial was in Forest Mound cemetery.
